Note: If you are unable to fulfill your responsibilities on the day assigned, please trade Sundays with someone else who serves in the same category.
Responsibilities:
Altar Bread: Bring 5 loaves (using the recipe in the church cookbook) to church at Vespers. Artos should be brought to church at least a half hour before Vespers.
Entree: Bring an entree and a simple side dish to feed at least 50 people. Food should be brought brought to church prepared, just needing to be warmed, so that you are not distracted by cooking during the service. If you prepare food at church, it should be ready before liturgy starts, and you should clean up after yourself. Please do not leave a mess for the clean up people to take care of. After you take communion, put food out on the serving tables. (3 people assigned each week.) (Don’t know what to make? Check out these recipes, sized right for coffee hour.)
Salad/Bread: Bring enough salad for 120 people (about 4 bags of salad or two warehouse club sized bins), make at least 15 PB&J sandwiches. Sandwiches should be placed at the beginning of the food line to make it easy for kids to grab them.
Dessert: Bring enough dessert for 100 people (cookies, cake, fruit, etc.). Fruit would also be appreciated. If you bring fruit, please place it near the PB&J sandwiches to make it easier for the kids to grab when they go through the line.
Clean up: Clean up the parish hall after coffee hour (3 people assigned each week)
Empty the coffee pot and clean it
Make sure all water and juice containers are emptied out or put in fridge
Wipe down the tables and any messy chairs (You can hand a wipe to the people at the table and ask them to clean up after themselves instead of doing this yourself.)
Sweep up any large messes
Put dishes in the dishwasher and run it, wash any dishes that don’t fit in dishwasher and put them away. (If there are clean dishes in the dishwasher, put them away before putting the dirty ones in.)
Make sure the burners on the coffee warmer and turned off.
Take out the trash
